Citrefine’s standard 30% Citriodiol® spray has an excellent safety record and has been sold in the US for two decades.
The active ingredient’s long-standing safety record has been further supported by the EPA who have approved the use of registered Citriodiol® products on children of all ages.
In recent years, the safety dataset of Citriodiol® has expanded significantly to provide additional evidence that there is no risk in using the product on this subpopulation.
As a result of this expanded evidence, the EPA has now responded by removing the age restriction on this product.
While the EPA has not imposed any age use restriction, Citrefine International Limited, in line with EU authorities, continues to recommend that no insect repellent product be used on children under the age of 6 months.
For children in this age bracket, protection through physical barriers likes nets and clothing are recommended.
We welcome this positive development marking another memorable milestone in Citriodiol® helping people and their families to live healthier lives.
